Tiger Woods Suffers Career-Worst Day

The swirling wind that made it difficult to pull the right club. Fast greens that led to 65 three-putts in the third round alone. And a 44 on the back nine for Tiger Woods, the highest nine-hole score of his professional career.

Woods didn’t get away with anything.

Going for his sixth win at the Memorial, and his fourth victory in his last five tournaments, Woods had two double bogeys and a triple bogey on the back nine for a 44, and he did that without a penalty shot.

“The conditions were tough and when I missed it cost me,” Woods said through a PGA Tour media official. “I caught the wrong gusts at the wrong time, made a couple bad swings and all in all, it just went the wrong way.”

Marlins On Pace To Be Worst Team Ever
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Marlins continue their pursuit of a dubious place in the annals of baseball history as they continue to lose games at a clip not seen since the worst team of the modern era of baseball, the 1962 New York Mets.

The Marlins lost again Thursday night and through 27 games in the month of May, the Marlins have won a total of five games. The Fish have lost their last nine straight games and only won two of their last 18 games.

For comparison purposes the 1962 Mets played 26 games in the month of May and won nine games. But, the Mets also lost their last 11 straight games of the month of May in 1962 as well.
