State Department Whistleblower’s Lawyer Burglarized, Likely By “Obama Supporters”

You may remember hearing about Aurelia Fedenisn last month — she is a former State Department inspector who leaked government documents.

She is currently being represented by a Dallas law firm, whose office was broken into and robbed earlier in July. During the break in, three computers were stolen and the firm’s file cabinets were raided. None of the valuable in the office, however, were taken.

Cary Schulman of the Schulman & Mathias law office said, “It’s a crazy, strange, and suspicious situation.”

The bizarre robbers did not touch and of the silver bars or expensive video equipment in the office. Schulman thinks they were instead trying to find information on Fedenisn’s case.

Last month, Fedenisn gave CBS News documents proving that the State Department had covered up criminal investigations involving its employees. The investigations included offenses like drug use, sexual abuse, prostitution, and sexual harassment.

The burglars were likely politically motivated supporters of Obama — the documents leaked by Fedenisn do not make his administration look good.

The suspects, however, have not yet been identified by police.

Schulman said, “It’s clear to me that it was somebody looking for information and not money. My most high-profile case right now is the Aurelia Fedenisn case, and I can’t think of any other case where someone would go to these great lengths to get our information.”

Soon after Fedenisn leaked the documents, the State Department tried to silence her by threatening her friends and family, according to lawyers representing her. State Department officials camped at her house and harassed her children.

This all may be an effort to force Fedenisn to sign papers claiming she stole the documents that she leaked. Fedenisn, however, denies this.

Schulman thinks the robbery “wasn’t professional enough” to be the work of a government official. However, he said, “it is possible that an Obama or Hillary supporter feels that I am unfairly going after them. And the timing of this is right after several weeks of very public media attention so it seems to me most likely that the information sought is related to that case. I don’t know for sure and I want the police to do their work.”

Two suspects were caught by surveillance cameras, carrying computers as they walked out of the law office.

The State Department continues to say they had no involvement.

“Any allegation that the Department of State authorized someone to break into Mr. Schulman’s law firm is false and baseless,” Jen Psaki, a State Department spokesperson, said.
This all seems a little fishy to me. Your thoughts? Let us know below.
